Paul Nolan's Photogenics

Arranging the user interface

Photogenics has a very customisable interface. It's made up of plugins, and each plugin can be independently arranged and positioned. Plugins can be moved by clicking on their title bar. This is the blue bar at the top of each plugin (not to be confused with the windows title bar). Click on the title bar and drag outside the window to create a new window. Click and drag the plugin to a different page by dragging it over the page and releasing the mouse button. The position at which it will be inserted will be highlighted as you move the mouse. If you have lots of screen space, it's often nice to have the colour plugins in their own window. If you have a really tall screen, you can also cram more plugins on the first page than is there by default. You could have room for the Image Control Plugin, and Media Plugin, and a small Colour Plugin.

By clicking on the small arrow button next to the tabs in a plugin window, you can access the Plugin Container menu. This allows you to add new pages to the window, and you add new plugins by selecting them by name. Note that you can have multiple copies of the same plugin open, which is often useful when it comes to the colour plugins.

Select Snapshot to save the positions of all the windows and plugins for the next time you run Photogenics. If you somehow cant manage to get the arrangement back to the default, simply copy the Photogenics/Data/Prefs/ PluginContainerSnapShot.NgStr file from the CD to the Photogenics/Data/Prefs/ directory on your hard drive.
